A T-Shirt printing company is looking for a website that breaks down who they are and what they do, as well as implementing their target audiences in Greek life and for businesses as well.
For this project, I used a variety of tools such as Lucid and Xmind to create the site map and information architecture and Figma to create the mockup for the website to then implement on SquareSpace.
A functional and responsive website that helped students and businesses input their shirt designs onto the website to be sold and sent out to that customer.
Challenges on this project were minimal, but one big issue that I had was implementing the CRM into the website to be t, but eventually, I was able to figure it out.
My role was to design the website and construct a structure of how it would look and work on Squarespace. I also was tasked with website maintenance and designs like icons and graphics.
This was a long-term project that needed continuous maintenance and usually around a month in May to launch two pages to about four months and onwards to launch everything and maintain the site.
For the market research, there were numerous great examples of websites that centered around Greek life as well as businesses. For 602 Enterprises, they were looking for a website that can be targeted towards students and businesses specifically (e.g. bars, small businesses, apartment complexes). I evaluated a great market each having what works for them and flaws that don't work. In my research, I evaluated the market to formulate a proper design that fitted who 602 Enterprises is targeting and how the website will work for those two sets of audiences.
After evaluating what is in the market, I decided to pick two competitors that would best rival 602 Enterprises. the first competitor is Hittn' Skins, a screen printing company based in Orlando, Florida that provides custom apparel, vinyl designs, and branding materials commercially and residentially. The second competitor is JNJ Apparel which creates apparel for businesses and campus life like sororities and fraternities. Both are great websites that answer user needs in creating designs and apparel for students or businesses. But what makes both of these websites work and what doesn't work? That is the question I am going to answer.
I created a criterion table that helped me evaluate the total content that was inside the website. Creating the pros and cons helped me understand what I could add to the website and build a list to help me understand what worked for each competitor's website. One of the biggest issues for both websites was that it had to know how users can sign up, and do they need to build a quote? email them first? Especially JNJ Apparel which it allows you to shop in their store. They had a great catalog as well as targetting businesses for quotes. Overall this helped me see what worked and what didn't to target their main audience.
One of the main audience groups for 602 Enterprises is Fraternities and sororities looking to create custom apparel and prints. This is the focus group I wanted to target and attract students that are in these fraternities to join 602 Enterprise by creating an aesthetic that can relate to them.
Another target group that 602 Enterprises wanted to use, was small business owners like owners of bars, gyms, or local restaurants that are looking for custom apparel and prints to use for their business.
The final group that I wanted to help 602 Enterprises target are commercial and residential estates like apartment complexes, real-estate companies, and commercially owned businesses. 602 Enterprise has already begun creating prints for apartment complexes, but how can they grow to attract commercial and real-estate agencies? Similar to small businesses, but on a larger scale.
I created an empathy map that can help me identify what the user will say, think, feel, and does. I used Ashley Lin as an example of someone who is a part of a sorority and is looking to create custom shirts for her sorority sisters. She has been looking online for the best businesses that are either around her or have a good rate. This empathy map showcases that Ashley needs a company that will be good in quality and affordable to pay for. What if we can build towards people like Ashley that can use 602 Enterprises to find shirts and custom designs she may like better than her design? Thats what empathy helps me with and aims to be helpful when coming up with a design.
While I have created the user profile, I want to design a SWOT Analysis that will help me understand the business aspect of 602 Enterprises, like Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats. Making the SWOT Analysis will help me diagnose realistic problems that can face 602 Enterprises and also excellent reasons why it will function.
The font I decided to go with was called Oswald, which was because it fit the tone the client was looking for. Which was bold but also can get down to business. The sizes of the fonts varied, but we broke them down into
